Scary Ghost Stories

This happened in 1991 in a flat me and my ex-husband stayed in with my eldest son who was just over a year old.

I never felt anything strange, in that flat when we moved in until one night something strangled me. I was fighting for my life that night… Or for me it felt that way, in that moment it felt like ages that I struggled to get out of something’s power. It felt like something was sitting on me and I couldn’t get my breath. I felt a power over me that scared me. I felt so weak against this force. I fought it back and just started to pray. Eventually it left me and I jumped out of bed. I thought it was a bad dream but I realized it was not because I was fully aware of everything that was happening and a cold wind was coming from the window and blowing the curtains high up into the air. I was so confused when I saw the curtains and felt the cold wind. I remembered closing the windows before we went to bed. I jumped for the light, checked the windows and they were all shut. This happened quite a while ago so bear in mind I would be young.

Me and my brother used to share a room when we were little and what used to be the study is now my room. Me and my brother would share toys and play with them and sometimes read each other stories. One of my favourite toys from my childhood was a little rag doll which I didn’t really name, it was just Ragdoll. When I began to grow up I placed the doll on a shelf above my brother’s bed so that I could see it. I began to notice the doll’s head turning to watch me as I moved about the room. I wasn’t upset at all until I moved out into my own room.

I began to find Ragdoll unnerving, though there was an air of happiness and calming about it, I didn’t like the look of it’s face and when I got closer to one of my other toys, her smile almost became malicious and my things went missing and my toys would have been cut or ripped, there was a seahorse soft toy that I went to find and it was on my bed, with Ragdoll on a shelf looking at it, the seahorse has a big cut on it’s throat and all it’s stuffing was coming out, I did get my mother to fix it for me but I wanted to get rid of Ragdoll.

So one day we were having a massive clearout and my father was putting things in the attic. I got Ragdoll and said: “You are being naughty so me and Daddy are going to put you in the attic until you’re nice.” So my Dad did.

Shortly afterwards I could hear footsteps moving about the attic and stomping and tapping about.

A few years ago me and my brother went up into the attic to look for the old board games we used to play with. And we found Ragdoll hiding in the furthest corner of the attic and we didn’t know how she got there so we just left her and went back downstairs with the board games.

When we put the board games in the conservatory Ragdoll was in there, sitting on the shelf! I put the games on the shelf and ran for it. I double locked the door (it has two locks but we usually just use one).

After that I began to notice Ragdoll moving about the home, in cupboards in the living room, sat on the chairs. I did ask her to stop but she just ignored it. But she wasn’t able to go upstairs and access any of the bedrooms or the bathroom. The reason the experience is called Staircase Doll is because sometimes she would just sit at the bottom of the stairs, looking up with that same malicious smile, like she was waiting. I have tried to put a ‘block’ on the stairs so she couldn’t sit there but nothing worked.

This incident occurred around 12 years back. At that time I just started working in an insurance company here in Kuala Lumpur. I live in a 2 stories terrace house with my parents. My siblings all are married and have children so they live in a different house. So, normally it’s just the 3 of us. Although occasionally my eldest brother and elder sister do pay us a visit & sleepover at our house.

Back to my job in the insurance company, I got a position as an accounts clerk and although I despise the subject accounting, my close friend back from our school days has already worked there a few years prior to me joining the company, so I said, what the heck. At least it won’t suck because he’s there. He joined early because he got the job straight after finishing primary school while I continued my studies. I dropped out later due to health issues.

So the first day when I got to work, I was fortunate enough to be placed in the same department with my close friend. So I was assigned to my supervisor and he brought me on a tour of the entire department, introducing me to other coworkers. So, after all the introductions, my supervisor briefed me a bit about my duties, etc, and later I was shown to my cubicle. There were about 10 rows of 3 cubicles and I was placed at the right end cubicle. My neighbor was a girl around my age and she was very pleasant to me, often helping me out if I was unable to do something.

This story still creeps me out until this day. This was a while ago. I am 24 now, but I remember it like it was yesterday. It’s disturbed me ever since.

I used to go to this church around my hometown until I was about 18. I cannot remember how old I was exactly, but I will shoot for around 10. My church wasn’t that old. I believe it was built around 1967, with my great-grandfather being one of the founders.

Growing up, I’d hear little ghost stories about the church, but I never really played into it, until something happened to me. It’s a small Baptist church that had bathrooms right when you walk in one the left side. The first was women’s and the second door was the men’s room.

Not much of a ghost story but the new house was fine it didn’t seem spooky in any way but as time went on I did notice and see things plus had a scary experience later in my teens!

The first time I had a paranormal experience was when I was 8 or 9 I woke up in the middle of the night and in the corner of my room there was what looked like white cloud gas forming in to a tall human shape! obviously I didn’t hang round for the party. I legged it in to my mums and dads room. I never saw it again.

The last part to what happened in my old house. Not really sure where to start but one day when me and the family came back from a day out I got sent to my room for being naughty! I was sitting on my bed facing the door way and what happened next I didn’t have words to explain I didn’t know the word #@$! that! I just stared wide eyed with my mouth open as a full blown ghost flew past the door slowly it was hovering and had no legs and was semi see threw. It looked like it was wearing a ragged cloak I couldn’t not see a face or hands it was side ways on.

This is my first ghost story. So no negative comment on this please.

This is a true ghost story which happened to my father. He used to work in the army.

He was resting in his army camp when suddenly a soldier came and told him that the enemy was planning to attack the base, they were just short of their target. The soldier left after saying this. My father then called an emergency meeting with senior army officers and planned to attack the enemy.

I have a few scary ghost stories to tell I wont tell them all in one go I will space them out.

Im 22 now but going back quite a few years i must of been 5+ I used to live in a haunted house I have seen a few things but I would love to go back to make sure it really was haunted.

I used to see shadows in the corner of my eyes, things would get moved and I even saw a full blown ghost! I’m not sure where to start since it all happened so long ago so all my accounts are probably out of order.
